Responsibilities will include working as a member of the development group to continue the development of the Xmedia graphics automation suite. Miranda¡¦s Xmedia Suite is a powerful range of applications for automatically creating, managing, and playing out real-time, dynamic broadcast graphics. The system is designed for close integration with the Vertigo XG/CG channel branding processors, the Imagestore range of master control switching processors with integral channel branding, and other third party graphics processors.
Tasks and responsibilities - We expect that the majority of your time will be spent doing software design/development, although some of your time will also be spent debugging and testing specific areas of the product. Some of your time will also be spent providing engineering and production support (to Vertigo¡¦s sales team and/or customers), trade show preparation, and demo development. We would also like you to contribute to the standardization of the overall software development process, including definition of coding standards, test procedures, bug tracking, and overall product development.
Professional and personal qualifications - Self motivated, independent, and resourceful
- Ability to verbally communicate in both French & English
- Proven track record of successfully working in team environment which develops software systems
- Excellent English written communication skills
Academic requirements and technical knowledge - Bachelor of Engineering or computer science
- Strong knowledge of GUI design
- Strong object oriented design & analysis
- Strong object oriented programming with C++
- Knowledge of backend component development
- Knowledge of multimedia systems
- Knowledge of video standards preferable
- Knowledge of video standards preferable
Experience - 5-7 years experience in software development (C++ preferably)
- 4 years experience designing object oriented software
- significant experience developing on Windows platform
- experience reviewing software log files for failure analysis
- experience with high performance server software development
