Software Designer Java (Infrastructure Product Unit)

As a Java Software Engineer, the candidate will have to design, develop, modify and deploy applications and software elements used to perform the remote controlling of Miranda products. Tasks and responsibilities -Design software architectures for remote controlling purposes; -Coding of applications & software components in the Miranda iControl software environment; -Maintain the compatibility and functionality between the versions of the software; -Test and debug applications and software elements; -Meet needs of internal or external customers by changing existing code to resolve problems or add functionality; -Participate in the definition of the control panels with the product managers and the project manager; -Participate in the definition of the interface between software and firmware; -Collaborate with the QA and technical support teams to identify and resolve problems. Professional and personal qualifications -Autonomous, self motivated and meticulous; -Bilingual; -Capable of managing several projects at the same time; -Ability to work efficiently in a team and in an environment of hardware and software development. Academic requirements and technical knowledge -Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science; -Knowledge object oriented programming with Java; -Knowledge of JavaScript, C++ & C; -Knowledge in video and audio standards is an asset. Experience -1 to 3 years experience in software design, coding and testing; -Experience working in a structured software development environment; -Experience with Linux and/or Windows operating systems; -Experience developing user interfaces (GUI); -Experience with multimedia software is an asset; -Experience with distributed software applications is an asset; -Experience with IP communication standards is an asset.
